PREHsea and UISPP meeting in Sangiran [Indonesia]

Member of the Unesco associate International Council of Philosophy and Human Sciences, the International Union of Prehistoric and Protohistoric Sciences (www.uispp.org) undergoes since a couple of years a new dynamic organization, intended to be steadied by the two forthcoming congresses (Burgos, Spain, 2014 and Melbourne, Australia, 2017), following the 2011 Congress in Florianopolis (Brasil). This objective will be helped, notably, by a new setting up of several scientific commissions within the organization.

The launching of the PREHsea project on a conference meeting with the target groups was held in Quezon Palawan last July 23-25th2012. The ultimate goal of the conference was to gather information from the various groups that formed as stakeholders regarding their perspectives, on how to safeguard and promote sustainability towards developing prehistoric heritage management in Tabon Complex Quezon, Palawan.

Meeting and conferences in Sangiran [Indonesia]

The Meeting  in Sangiran at February 5 to 7 was  successfully  participated  by target groups, predominated by the local community and local government units. Group discussion, public seminars and field trips to some sites within Sangiran’s Dome were conducted to develop a dynamic discussions and partnership towards achieving a sustainable heritage management on a World Heritage Site related to the human evolution. A prime focus integrated into the table of discussions is the socio-economic developments aspects.

Meeting and conferences in Quezon [Philippines]

The launching of the PREHsea project on a conference meeting with the target groups was held in Quezon Palawan last July 23-25th2012. The ultimate goal of the conference was to gather information from the various groups that formed as stakeholders regarding their perspectives, on how to safeguard and promote sustainability towards developing prehistoric heritage management in Tabon Complex Quezon, Palawan. The Tabon complex is an ensemble of sites that document the richness of the Philippine archaeological heritage in the frame of: earliest human settlement, dispersal, adaptation to island environment, mortuary practices and trade during the remote past spanning more than 40,000 years up to the recent periods.
