Tabon Cave, in the Lipuun Point, Palawan Island, Philippines has recorded one of the oldest Homo sapiens settlements in Island Southeast Asia, c. 37,000 years ago. The Lipuun Point, owing to its natural and cultural heritage, is inscribed on the World Heritage Tentative List.

This picture, taken during the 2007 excavations (by the National Museum of the Philippines with participation of teachers and students of the Erasmus Mundus International Master in Quaternary and Prehistory), has been chosen to symbolize the PREHsea Project.

It emphasizes the importance of a prehistoric site, of the natural environment, and of ancient or extant human groups.
